"At Columbia I am always surprised to find the daily opportunity for a challenge."

Kevin Ryder

Senior Superintendent

Joined Columbia in 2008

A focused, detail oriented, and efficient Senior Superintendent, Kevin has worked on a wide variety of projects, successfully completing many challenging situations.  His accomplishments include many types of construction and renovation undertakings,  including work for academic, pharmaceutical, business and hospitality clients in both the difficult environment of downtown Boston and suburban areas around Massachusetts.  Kevin describes his role as that of a full time superintendent and part time project manager, teacher/mentor, client relations manager, safety officer and entertainment director! (He can be found DJ’ing the long bus rides during Columbia’s annual ski trip, complete with color commentary.) Kevin enjoys the variety of people and personalities he works with and challenges he faces on each project, as he is a problem solver and not afraid to get his hands dirty. He is especially proud of his work at 150 Massachusetts Avenue for Berklee College of Music, which included a major structural renovation and restoration of a 100+ year old consistently occupied building in downtown Boston.

When he is not at work, Kevin can most often be found spending time with his family. With five children and one grandchild, he is kept very busy! He enjoys coaching his kids’ youth sports teams and participating in Christian service at St. Joseph’s in Wakefield. He also stays active by golfing in the warm weather and skiing in the winter months. One of his dreams is to both ski and golf on the same day. Kevin lives by the quote “hope is not a strategy”, and is willing to get involved to solve problems and achieve goals in all aspects of life.
