The Back Deck restaurant is a new “backyard cookout” spot in Downtown Crossing in Boston. Constructed in Suffolk University’s 2 West Street building, the restaurant offers a laid-back, backyard grilling experience. The ambiance of the space brings the outdoors inside with such details as exterior carriage lighting and glazed brick throughout the dining room.
An open kitchen sits behind a large granite bar where patrons have front row seats to the flame-grilling happening just a few feet away. The dining room features teak and shorea patio furniture to accommodate groups of all kinds. Green plantings and a canopied soffit divide the dining room into three distinct areas. Two custom-made umbrella chandeliers light up as night falls, illuminating the lofty, evening sky-blue ceiling.
