Falmouth Hospital is a 95-bed facility and has one of the busiest emergency centers in MA, especially during the summer months. As the need for patient services increased, the hospital hired Columbia and SMMA to construction a new addition. The new three-story facility is approximately 63,250 sf, consisting of rentable physician office space and clinical diagnostic and treatment space. The project’s clinical areas also include an endoscopy suite, pain management and IV infusion areas. Rehabilitation services are also housed in the new facility.
Built next to the existing hospital, it was imperative that Columbia implement this project without down-time, and with minimal disruption. In an effort to do so, Columbia carefully coordinated all construction activities with the hospital and the entire project team, as well as surrounding campus operations and neighbors.
With the construction of this new addition, Falmouth Hospital now features the latest in cardiac imaging and diagnostic imaging technology, and is considered to be one of the state’s best emergency departments, treating over 40,000 patients annually.
