For over 10 years Columbia has worked with Kindred Healthcare (formerly Vencor Corporation) providing Construction Management services on a number of renovation and new construction projects. To-date projects have included:
- Renovations to a 100,000 sf, full-service hospital in Arlington, Virginia, including a new specialty ventilation wing; renovations to the ICU; renovations to surgical procedure rooms; and renovations to all patient rooms. In addition, the entire roofing system was removed and replaced, along with all mechanical and electrical systems while maintaining 100% occupancy.
- Addition and complete renovation of the former Hahnemann Hospital in Boston, into the Vencor-Boston Acute Care Hospital. The renovation encompassed 54,000 sf and the addition consisted of 4,000 sf of patient rooms. The project also included all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communications and alarm systems.
- Construction of a new CT scan suite at Kindred Hospital Boston North-Shore in Peabody, MA. New lead lined glass and walls, along with new sprinklers, ventilation and lighting were installed.
- Reconfiguration of Kindred Hospital’s North Shore facility in Peabody, MA, including the demolition of the existing Chadwick Building and the construction of a new, 2-story, loading dock structure.
