Columbia Construction is providing preconstruction and construction management oversight for the multi-phase modification of an old mill property on Main Street in Maynard, MA. Once known as Clock Tower Place, the complex was originally used to manufacture carpets and carpet yarn, and was later occupied by many business and industrial tenants. Recently purchased by Saracen Properties, the developer is embarking on the complete refurbishment and modernization of this 1.1 million sf complex.
Originally constructed in 1847, the campus is made up of 12 vintage brick-and-beam buildings located on a 50 acre site. Once complete, Mill and Main will offer flexible office space, retail shops and restaurants, as well as a parking garage, fitness facilities and beautifully landscaped gardens with a boardwalk and pedestrian plazas.
