Spotlight On... Columbia's Holiday Party

Columbia Construction upped the ante this year with a casino themed holiday party at Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square. Held in the ballroom we recently constructed as part of a major expansion of the luxury hotel, employees and their guests were given the opportunity to dress to the nines and try their hand at a variety of games with Fenway Park as the backdrop. Dealers were happy to get people up to speed as they ran tables of Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps, Blackjack, and Roulette. In addition to the stress free (fake money!) gambling and great food, party goers were also treated to a full set of classic rock performed by Fortune – our very own Pete DiStefano is the band’s lead guitarist!

'Tis the Season...and Here's the Reason

Although guests were provided with $1,000 in playing chips at the door, they were given the option to purchase unlimited additional chips. Every dollar of those purchases was matched by Columbia and donated to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in honor of Eva Sanson-Mottola. Eva was a valued member of the Columbia team for five years, well known for her charismatic personality and upbeat attitude. She has been sorely missed at the office since earlier this year when we were devastated to learn that she lost her battle with leukemia. Anyone who knew Eva would agree that she would have had a blast at the party, where her husband John was a welcomed attendee and over $11,000 was raised in her name.

It Was a Full House!

Getting the whole team together outside of work for some fun made for a great night for all, as you can tell from the photos. Happy holidays from everyone at Columbia!
