Through Columbia Cares, we give back in many ways, including our annual day of service when our team comes together to volunteer for a selected cause. In recent years, we’ve done everything from building beds for the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless to hosting food drives for local food banks.
We also encourage mentorship programs, where employees can mentor students inside and outside of the office at charities and other non-profits. As part of the non-profit The Furniture Trust’s Eco-Carpentry Challenge, for instance, Columbia mentors students from local high schools to repurpose used office furniture into functional items for people in need.
Columbia consistently ranks among the top charitable companies in Massachusetts. In 2022, the Boston Business Journal recognized Columbia as an honoree in its annual Corporate Citizenship Awards, a recognition of the region's top corporate charitable contributors. Additionally, Columbia received a Service Leader Impact Award from Building Impact, recognizing our commitment to volunteerism and service within Greater Boston. So you can feel good about working with a company that cares about giving back.
The Boston Business Journal named Columbia one of the region’s “Top Charitable Contributors” in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
