Columbia provided preconstruction and construction management services for Analogic’s new manufacturing and office building at Centennial Park in Peabody, MA. This two-story, 100,000 sf facility was built within a 50,000 sf footprint, and is dedicated to the assembly of Analogic’s Computed Tomography systems. The addition’s entire first floor is designated for manufacturing, while the second floor is utilized as offices. A dramatic, two-story glass connector links the existing facility to the new addition.
Intense electrical, heating and cooling was required for the entire manufacturing area, which consists of semi-high bay space (18-20 feet). Other specialized construction techniques included the installation of flat flooring to isolate and minimize vibration, while lead shielding was installed in areas designated for research. The exterior consists of masonry & metal stud backup, with a fully adhered AVB on denz glass. The skin is of brick, precast, metal panels, and a large curtainwall/strip window package.
