Columbia worked in partnership with Mortensen to expand and renovate the Hotel Commonwealth in historic Kenmore Square. 

The seven-story addition is sited on what was a 23,000 square foot open lot behind the hotel. Facing the Mass Turnpike and Fenway Park, the project includes three floors of private parking, a large ballroom, an outdoor terrace overlooking Fenway’s Green Monster, meeting rooms, and private event entry and pre-function space.

The 133,400 square foot expansion also includes 96 additional guestrooms on three levels, a bridge connecting each level to the existing hotel, and upgrades to existing elevators, lobbies and public areas.
