Columbia provided design and construction services for this 540kW fully ballasted PV solar electric system at FUJIFILM’s manufacturing and R&D Facility located in Bedford, MA. The new PV system was placed on the existing Carlisle roofing system after stone ballasts were redistributed to meet structural and roof warranty requirements. 

The new system will reduce FUJIFILM’s power supply from NSTAR by 25% while emitting zero carbon into the atmosphere. All of the electrical power generated by this new system is back fed into the buildings’ existing electrical distribution equipment for immediate use by FUJIFILM. 305 watt modules (panels) were specified for this new PV Solar Array. 

FUJIFILM utilized Federal and Massachusetts incentive programs for this renewable energy system, including the new SREC 2 Program. FUJIFILM will achieve a five-year payback for all costs associated with this project.
