As part of our ongoing work for Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and its surrounding properties, Columbia Construction recently built-out a new walk-in clinic for the hospital. In order to create this new state-of-the-art facility, the former emergency room was completely transformed to serve as new clinic space.
A total of 4,800 sf of space was built-out within the existing hospital to accommodate a walk-in wing, which provides improved access to noncritical healthcare. The clinic will be staffed with nurse practitioners and physicians assistants, as well as a number of doctors.
Containing offices and primary-care patient areas of exam rooms, nursing stations, a lab area, reception area and an expansive waiting area, this newly converted wing of the hospital will provide an alternative to walking into the emergency room. To cater to urgent healthcare needs, parking in front of the clinic was also expanded.
