The Hill Cafe, located in the Roche Dining Commons, is a multi-purpose retail dining and social space on the Stonehill campus. Serving as the college’s main retail dining facility, it doubles as a primary social and entertainment venue, hosting events and performances.
This 8,000 sf phased renovation included a 360 degree food service platform, a new kitchen, and a pub. An stage area was created for performances and events, and a dance floor, raised seating, and back-of-the-house function prep area were added. Finishes include unique floor tile patterns and floating ceiling components retrofitted with customized paneling. The main entrance was also renovated, as were the Information Desk and Information Services office located in the entryway.
Collaboration was key to planning and implementing this project. Due to space limitations, systems installed in the kitchen area required careful coordination and sequencing. Working closely with the owner, we were able to complete this project having achieved all project goals.
