After completing the build-out of a new headquarters for Via Separations, Columbia worked towards expanding space for the cleantech team in the recently refurbished 64 Pleasant Street building in Watertown (completed by Columbia).
Via Separations occupies a majority of the 105,350 square foot building. Utilizing a design build approach, Columbia worked collaboratively with TRIA and RW Sullivan to create state-of-the-art labs and office space. The space also contains a shared chemical storage room with a dedicated loading area.
There were many challenges to this project, including the overlap with base building design and construction. Since speed to completion was critical, Columbia’s knowledge of the building helped assure project goals were met. This includes flexibility for future growth, options for R&D space on 2nd floor, and the feasibility of installing a roof deck.
