Columbia Construction worked with Hacin + Associates and Orange Barrel Media to modify the main entry at the W Hotel. Located in the heart of Boston’s Theater District, the W Hotel is known for reinventing contemporary cool in the most historical cities. Expanding on its signature style, the hotel redesigned the main entry canopy, updating it with a spectacular media screen and specialty lighting.

Work included the installation of a new 18’x24’ media screen with metal frame. New color LED display lights were installed on the underside of the entry canopy, providing it with a more signature look. To accommodate the new screen, a portion of the hotels curtainwall system was removed and reinforced with a structural support system.

Work on this project required careful coordination and sequencing as it was located on a very busy street and suspended directly over the sidewalk.
