The goal of this project was to upgrade two compounding pharmacies to comply with both USP 797 and USP 800 and MA 247 CMR regulations. With Columbia taking the lead as the Construction Manager, the pharmacies, as well as the building’s infrastructure, were upgraded to support the structural and operational changes to comply with new regulations. Located on the main campus, the first site included support space and new air handling units. The second infusion pharmacy, located at the satellite Cancer Center, also included new HVAC systems and upgrades that reduced contamination risk and increased safety for healthcare personnel, patients and the environment. Work was carefully sequenced as construction took place while the building was occupied.
