Kendall Square in Cambridge sees yet another innovative company move to the neighborhood. Columbia Construction recently completed the build-out of new office space for the relocation of Amazon’s Kindle Team to the 101 Main Street office complex, providing cutting-edge accommodations in the hub of Cambridge’s high-tech neighborhood.
Designed by IA Interior Architects, overseen by Jones Lang LaSalle as the Project Manager, and constructed by Columbia Construction, Amazon’s space was built-out with creativity and innovation in mind. The ductwork and ceiling grids are exposed and concrete floors polished, giving the space an industrial, modern feel. Other areas within the 100,000 sf space include a new reception area, as well as offices and breakout rooms surrounded by frosted glass walls. The space also includes two cafés overlooking the Charles River, a collaboration haven for employees.
